Tour Oceanside

Oceanside Pier - tremendous development going on in this area!

Need a bit of fresh air?  Love water, beach community, harbors and piers, good schools?  Well you just picked Oceanside!  Real estate in Oceanside appears to be an up and coming community with lots of diversity.

Known for its beautiful beaches, attractive Harbor and near perfect weather, Oceanside is located 35 miles north of San Diego and 90 miles south of Los Angeles - far enough away to still have small town appeal, but close enough to provide access to both Los Angeles and San Diego.

Located along the coast at I-5 and Highway 78

San Diego's most northern city

3 1/2 miles of public beaches

1,900 foot pier

Two golf courses

One of the finest protected harbors

Coast Express Rail provides transportation to downtown San Diego

Climate:
Oceanside ranks as the 5th most favored climate in the world, with temperatures ranging from an average of 59 degrees in January to 78 degrees in July. Annual rainfall averages are between 8 to 10 inches, with the majority of precipitation falling December through April.

Housing:  Best of all, Oceanside still has some of the best real estate values in all of Southern California.  You can still get a steal on beach property and the planned communities are some of the best.

Beaches:  Over 3.5 miles of white sandy beaches make Oceanside the ideal place for sunning, surfing, and sandcastle building. Take a leisurely stroll along the water or bring your pole for some great surf fishing.  With plenty of parking and easy beach access, Oceanside presents one of the finest beach areas on the west coast.

Oceanside Harbor:
The harbor offers an enchanting atmosphere with shops, eateries, and a lighthouse. Oceanside's Harbor is a mecca for sportfishing, whale watching, boating and other water-oriented activities. The Marina inside the harbor has sloops ranging in length from 25-51 feet.

Oceanside Pier:  The historic Oceanside Pier is a prized community attraction as well as a monument to its citizens' persistence in seeing that a pier remains a part of its oceanfront recreational facilities. This pier is one of the longest wooden construction recreational piers on the West Coast!   Go for a stroll to the end and enjoy the view. You'll find the pier is a hub of activity -  a place where young and old, fisherman and surfer, tourist and residents mingle, stroll, and sit to watch the waves or the sunset.

Guajome Park:
This is one of Oceanside's best-kept secrets.  Nestled in the serene and historic San Luis Rey valley, Guajome Regional Park is a beautiful ecological preserve and a wonderful place to take kids. There is a wonderful lake perfect for fishing and trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. I first went there for a mountain bike ride around the lake and nearby hills.  My kids love to go there to try to catch frogs or crawfish!
