More and more, I am finding people wanting to know more about the hiking and biking trails in and around Carlsbad. The good news is that Carlsbad has 14 different trails stretching 21 miles with plans to extend that to 68 miles!!


In addition, Carlsbad is planning an extensive system of trails to supplement roads, and enable alternative transportation methods.  These trails will be detination oriented and may be in place or in addition to sidewalks.  Eventually Carlsbad is planning on having 90 miles of trails to supplement roads.


My son and I have mountain biked on the trails in Rancho Carrillo and we loved it.  I have also enjoyed leisurely strolls on the Batiquitos Lagoon trail.
